Fueron anunciados los British Academy of Film and Television Arts, mejor conocidos como los premios BAFTA, que en pocas palabras son los premios otorgados por la academia británica y que este año serán presentados por Stephen Fry, siendo el 14 de febrero la fecha en la que se realizará el evento, alrededor de una semana antes de la entrega de Premios de la Academia de ciencias y artes cinematográficas de los Estados Unidos.
Las grandes nominadas de la velada serán Carol de Todd Haynes y Bridge of Spies de Steven Spielberg, seguidas de cerca por la nueva película de Alejandro González Iñárritu, The Revenant.
